Who We Are

Lauren Nocera is the founder of Expedition Consulting, LLC. Expedition Consulting supports organizational journeys through strategic consulting, planning and needs assessment processes, training and technical assistance, and project management. 

With a blend of professional and academic experience, Lauren supports organizations of all sizes and budgets. Current and past clients include: the Rhode Island Foundation, the Rhode Island Medical Society, the Provincetown Commons, Child & Family, Ocean State Media (formerly RI PBS and the Public's Radio), and many others.

Formerly an executive with Thundermist Health Center, Lauren pioneered initiatives like Rhode Island's first trauma-informed health center and widespread naloxone distribution, setting new standards for healthcare. In state government roles, including as the Rhode Island Opioid Settlement Manager, Lauren shaped policies and managed diverse funding streams. This laid the groundwork for Lauren to be selected as one of the inaugural members of the Addiction Scholars program at Georgetown University Law Center’s O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law. 

Lauren's academic background includes a Master of Public Health from Boston University, a Master of Social Work from Rhode Island College, and a professional certificate from Cornell University in Diversity Equity, and Inclusion.
